Most expensive diamond ring in the world   The most expensive diamond ring in the world is the "Pink Star" diamond ring, which sold for $71.2 million at a Sotheby's auction in Hong Kong in 2017. The Pink Star diamond is a 59.60-carat oval mixed-cut diamond, and it is the largest internally flawless, fancy vivid pink diamond ever graded by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). The Pink Star was mined by De Beers in South Africa in 1999 and was initially a 132.5-carat rough diamond. It took over two years to cut and polish the diamond into its current oval shape. The Pink Star was first sold in 2007 for $76 million, but the sale was canceled due to the buyer's inability to pay. The Pink Star diamond ring is set in 18k rose gold and features two white diamonds on either side of the pink diamond. It is considered one of the most valuable diamonds in the world due to its exceptional size, color, and clarity.
